The Story Behind PURE BODY FIX®

Martin Parkes has had an interest in healthy living and good nutrition for most of his life. After serving in the Royal Air Force and working in electronics industry as an engineer, he took the decision to follow the path of helping others improve their health and wellbeing through a functional health approach.

In 2008, Martin went back to school and trained to be a Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist.  Initially, Martin worked in a natural health clinic in St Albans before acquiring a salon Chesham High Street where he works today. Soon the growth in demand for soft tissue therapy meant that massage became the dominant part of the businss. In 2019, he took the decision to split the business and create The Massage Spa and develop Pure Body Fix® to highlight the functional health approach.

Inspiration behind Pure Body Fix®

Martin built his experience by treating clients from all ages and backgrounds, where he found that his engineering background has given him an insight to treating musculoskeletal issues and how different body systems relate and influence each other.  This showed that treating symptoms does not always give long term improvements. But identifying the cause and its contributing factors, such as stress, activity (or lack of) and nutrition will enable long term improvement though knowledge and change.

So, Pure Body Fix® came from the need to treat the whole person and find long term solutions or improvements to recurrent problems. To do this, he created a “tool kit” that provides optimal treatments and coaching for specific problems and their related issues.

Developing Pure Body Fix®

The toolkit metaphor is an important part of understanding what Pure Body Fix® is about. Everyone is different and a person-centred approach is utilised that uses the “tools” specific to their needs. This can be individually or a combination of advanced soft-tissue techniques or nutrition & health coaching.

The development of the Pure Body Fix® toolkit doesn’t stop here. Physical, stress and emotional challenges of twenty first century living are impacting on everyone’s wellbeing. This means that preventable diseases and lifestyle issues are becoming a major part of our longevity.
